Best Buddies at the Best Buddy Prom

129 Peers and Peer Buddies from Yucaipa High School went to
the Best Buddies Prom at the National Orange Show this past
Friday night. 12 different high schools in the area also participated
in the wonderful evening.
YHS Relay Team Medals at Arcadia
The YHS 4x100 relay team(Erica Wadell, Courtney Ilten, Kalin Tomlinson, Valeria Garcia) finished third at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational Friday.

Yucaipa Music and Arts Festival needs volunteers for their Fun Zone on May 2nd through May 4th . Please see David Schuler in room I-101 to sign up.
Attention all Thunderbirds! Please plan on attending the upcoming Senior Showcase. This YHS theatre production is directed by Adam Thomas and Kyla Klinge. See dancing, comedy, singing, monologues, scenes and other wonderful acts!! Show is $5 at the door and doors open at 6:00pm.

ASB Applications for next years student body representatives are available in the Activities office. The deadline to turn them in is this week so don’t miss out.

All Junior and Senior girls interested in playing in the Powder Puff football game in May must come to the Activities office and pick up a permission slip. Once completed the slip gets turned in to Activities along with your $30 for your jersey. You must be passing all your classes in order to pay for your jersey.

All 9th grade students who took PE 1 last year in Summer School must take the Physical Fitness Test this week. There will be a mandatory meeting in the MPR on Monday, April 14 th at the beginning of 3rd period.

After-School Peer Tutoring will meet today in the Library from 3:00pm to 3:30pm. We are here to help you improve your grades.

32nd annual Inland Science and Engineering Fair on April 1-2.
Alexander now will compete at the state Science and Engineering
fair in Los Angeles on April 28-29.

YHS ROTC will be competing in the Golden Bear Drill Meet on April 26th, in Los Alamitos. The competition will start at 10:00am and cadets will depart YHS at 8:00am.

In March, the ceramic creations of Tiffany Harter, Randi Bachtel,
and Brittany Wilks were submitted for a juried show at the
American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona.All three students
received confirmation letters that their work has been selected
to be in the ‘Emerging Artist: High School Show’.
This exhibition will run from April 14th – June 1st 2014. The
museum will be hosting a reception for all the artists on Saturday
April 12th from 6pm to 9pm. Awards will be presented at the
reception.The American Museum of Ceramic Art is located at:

Attention College-Bound Juniors: YHS will be taking a field trip to the National College Fair, in Ontario, on Tuesday, April 29th. At the fair you will have the opportunity to talk with college representatives from all around the United States as well as a number of international colleges. You will learn how to select the right college for you, how to finance a College Education, information for the college-bound athlete, ACT/SAT test prep, and much more. If you are interested in joining us at the fair, pick up a field trip permission form for the Counseling office and return it no later than Friday, April 11 th . If you have questions, please see Mrs. Brossia in the Counseling office.

PHOTO: Mountain Bike Team wins at Keyesville

The YHS Mountain Bike Team moved into first place for all of
Southern California with their win at Keyesville Sunday. The race
included 50 high schools and over 400 riders. For the past two
years, the Thunderbirds have been one of the dominant athletic
programs at YHS.

Yucaipa High School soccer great Kodi Lavrusky
 is featured in Tuesday's Press Enterprise. Read about Kodi.  Kodi scored the winning goal in the NCAA Division I championship game against Florida State. She becomes the first Thunderbird to win an NCAA D1 championship. video
